Vinous – 90/100
The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru is missing the cohesion on the nose of Comte Liger-Belair’s Aux Cras. At this stage, it is tightly-wound and bashful, which is uncommon in this vintage—it feels a little stripped. The palate is medium-bodied, pliant and attractive in terms of its satin texture, but misses some depth and complexity on the finish. I come away feeling as if I am not experiencing the complete wine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
