Bright medium red. Expressive nose melds dark cherry, chocolate and musky soil tones. Began a bit clenched, even reduced, but opened a bit with air to show black cherry, spice and leather flavors. Fairly tannic on the aftertaste. I find this rather ungiving today for village wine and would hold off on pulling the cork for three years or so.
