Deep amber in hue, the 1953 Doisy-Daëne is initially laconic, hints of chlorine, mandarin and a touch of furniture polish developing with time. The palate is more powerful than the nose, a quintessential mature Barsac with barley sugar, quince, Clementine and marmalade. Very good weight and focus towards the tangy finish, what the 1953 lacks in breeding, it compensates in intensity. Tasted at the château.
